Weber, Crabb and Wein has experience in representing individual and business entities in a wide range of criminal investigations and prosecutions in both “white” and “blue collar” cases. We tailor our approach in each case to best fit the client and the circumstances.
While every case is different, our skilled trial lawyers can handle a variety of federal and state matters, to which we bring our know-how from the wide range of complex commercial litigation cases we have handled. This background and experience gives us the ability to develop strategies and theories that can particularly serve the client well in economic and property crimes, such as; bank fraud, money laundering, gambling, health care fraud, wire and mail fraud, securities, bribery and racketeering. Dealing with these economic crimes can require nuanced and detailed investigation and analysis to arrive at a solid legal strategy. Weber, Crabb and Wein have the lawyers to achieve this goal.
Many times we can best assist our clients by getting an early start in these matters, before a charge is even filed. At the outset the government (be it the sheriffs’ office, the FBI or other law enforcement agency) has its investigators and lawyers working the case to try to establish a crime for which a defendant should be charged and convicted. Shouldn’t you have a lawyer on your side to try and prevent that result? Waiting to consult an attorney until after charges are filed is not in one’s best interests. Early intervention can sometimes forestall a prosecution or limit a client’s ultimate exposure. At this pre-indictment stage our efforts can include representation before a grand jury, responding to prosecution subpoenas and investigative requests, conducting our own investigation and meeting with the prosecution.
We recognize that being investigated for or charged with criminal activity is a very stressful time for any client. We strive to manage the process to best assist the client in dealing with the pressure and the process and to achieve the best resolution possible.
