In many cases, one spouse may be entitled to receive financial support from his/her ex-spouse. The award of alimony or spousal support depends upon a variety of factors that are enumerated in Florida law. Federal tax laws have recently changed so that alimony awarded after December 31, 2018 is not deductible by the payor spouse or taxable to the recipient spouse.
